Corinne Rosalie Bordes Rhodes passed peacefully from this life on Monday, November 20th, 2023.
She went to her reward knowing she was loved by her family, that she was an extraordinary wife, mother, and nurturer.
Corinne leaves behind her son Mark Albert Rhodes and his wife Chali Petifils Rhodes, her son Daniel Anthony Rhodes and his wife Natalie Bourgeois Rhodes, and her daughter Barbara Rhodes Pittman, and her husband John B Pittman, III.
Corinne took great pride in being Gramme to her grandson Christopher Rhodes and his wife Lauren Boudreaux Rhodes, her granddaughters, Caitlyn Rhodes, Breanna Burd, Savannah Burd, Anna Pittman, Ashley Pittman Swengler and her husband, Jon Swengler. Corinne adored her great grandchildren, Ava Rhodes, Mason Rhodes, Gracie Rhodes, and Riley Swengler. Corinne is also survived by her sister Carol Bordes Morlas and brother Roy Bordes.
Corinne was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Thomas Charles Rhodes, their son Thomas Charles Rhodes, II, and her parents Josephine Anzalone Bordes, and Raymond Bordes.
Corinne, a 1948 graduate of Holy Angels Academy in New Orleans began a career with South Central Bell phone company. Once married, Corinne selflessly devoted her life to her family. Corinne was a faithful wife and provided a beautiful loving home, for her husband and children. Corinne had a passion for supporting Catholic education and could be found generously sharing her time and musical and sewing talents with her children’s various Catholic schools in the Greater New Orleans area. She would substitute, serve as a teacher’s aide, provide music enrichment classes, and sew hundreds of dolls and dresses for Catholic school Parish fairs. Corinne also provided bookkeeping services to her husband’s family-owned businesses. But most of all, Corinne dedicated her life to caring for the needs of her family. She was devoted to her family, making sure her children received the best education, stayed on the right path, and felt supported and loved into their adulthood. 
With her family by her side, Corinne bravely navigated her end of life while managing the effects of macular degeneration and leukemia.   
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 1 PM. Memorial Prayers will be held at 11 AM.
