Cynthia “Cindy” Bourgeois (née Nelson) died peacefully at home on June 18, 2015 in Harvey, Louisiana at the age of 69.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Birlie Bourgeois, Jr., her children, Troy Bourgeois, Janice (Kent) Webb, Connie (John) Chubb, David (Pam) Helkenn, Barry Bourgeois, Dianne Belew, Birlie (Christine) Bourgeois, III, Adam (Nicole) Bourgeois. Cindy is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Cindy was born on July 16, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa to Merle Nelson and Leatrice Kavnaugh. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
