Dana A. Owen, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Sherry Zar Owen by second marriage and the late Barbara B. Owen by first marriage. Son of the late Joyce Cortez. Son-in-law of Marie Zar. Loving father of Hope Owen Falcon, Joyce Owen Abadie (Chad Abadie) and the late Dana A. Owen, Jr. (Survived by Jennifer Owen). Step Father of Stacey Matherne (Jerry Dempster) and Ray J. Matherne (Stacey Matherne). Grandfather of Corey Creppel, Courtney Ates, Jordan Abadie, Kelsey Owen. Step Grandfather of Alicia Gilmore, Alex Dempster, Ray W. Matherne, Jessie Matherne, Alvin Fabre IV, Allen Fabre and Eric Abadie. Great Grandfather of Colt D. Creppel, Brandt M. Abadie, Teagan Victoria Gilmore and 1 expectant great grandchild. Brother of Randy Owen and Kris Owen. Brother-in-law of John Zar (Gladys Zar) and Barry Zar (Tessie Zar). Dana proudly served his country while enlisted in the United States Army. He was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Marrero, LA. Memorial Services will be held at Bible Tabernacle Church on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be privately held at a later date.
