Brenda Darleene Cheeks Howell passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the age of 65. Beloved wife of Charles "Chuck" Howell. Mother of Lechelle Howell, Steven Howell (Angelique), and Mallory Howell (Andrew Murphy). Grandmother of Kristin Howell, Paige Moseley (Ronnie Hemen), Anthony Hill, Abby Howell, Riley Murphy, and the late Joslyn Hill. Daughter of the late Francis Holland Cheeks Rogers and Basil Cheeks. Sister of Charles Cheeks and Alton Bruce Cheeks (Susan). Sister-in-law of Robert E. Howell (Emelyn)(late Belva by first marriage). Aunt of Alton Brad Cheeks (Theresa), Christy C. Bourg (Brandon), Clarissa H. Walker (Wesley), Melanie H. Holloway (Chuck), Melissa H. Klegin (David Sr.), and James "Jimmie" Howell. Also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and other extended family. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Howell, Anthony Hill, Andrew Murphy, Ronnie Hemen, Kyle Walker, and Wesley Walker. Darleene was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. She worked at Grating Fasteners for over 25 years and in her free time loved to spend time with her family. She was known as their "Voice of Reason." She always played her computer games like World of Warcraft, enjoyed special trips to Disney World, and was a true fan of Elvis Presley and Adam Lambert music. Presley, the family dog, will also miss her dearly. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 PM until 10 PM and Monday morning from 8 AM until 1:30 PM.
