He was preceded in death by his adored wife of 31 years, Jody Perkins DeMoss; his parents, Ellison Ray DeMoss and Laveta Harper DeMoss; and his dear brother Michael Ray DeMoss. David leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by his sons, Jason David DeMoss (and wife Lois), Jacob Warren DeMoss, and his daughter, Alexandra Ray DeMoss. He is also survived by his brother Barwic DeMoss and his wife Donna, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Married for 31 years, David was a devoted husband and a loving father to his three children. He took great pride in being a good provider for his family and valued quality time spent with them above all else. His sentimental nature and caring disposition left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Professionally, David was a dedicated engineer known for his sharp intellect and quick wit. He approached life with a competitive spirit and a passion for learning. His wide array of hobbies brought him immense joy, from fishing and golfing to reading and solving crossword puzzles. David often reminisced about his travels, especially a memorable trip to Ireland with his late wife. He had a penchant for classic Westerns and adored watching shows like "The Andy Griffith Show." His loyalty to his favorite football teams, the Saints and LSU, always lit up the room with spirited conversations.
As we mourn the loss of David, his family and friends will remember him not just for his intelligence and humor, but for the love and warmth he shared so freely with those he cared about. He had a unique ability to light up any space with his laughter, and his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
