David Savoie of Westwego, LA passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012. For David on this day real life has begun. Beloved husband of the late Cleo Trosclair Savoie. Father of David C. Savoie and the late Alvin R. Savoie. Brother of the late Ralla Savoie Barrios, Earline Savoie Punch, Ozama, Richard, Wiley, Willard (Bill), Roy and Desmond. Son of the late Richard Savoie and Alfride Bourgeois Savoie. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Age 96 years. He was retired from the Celotex Corp. after 42 years of service. He was a World War II veteran and an active member of the American Legion Post 206, Amvets Post 38, Knights of Columbus Council 3091, lifetime member of the Westwego Volunteer Fire Department, Lay Eucharist Minister and a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 6PM to 10PM and again on Tuesday morning from 8AM until 10:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Avenue A at 4th Street, Westwego, LA at 11AM. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.
