Della (Marie) Bellamore

Della (Marie) Chiasson Dufrene Bellamore, went to be with our Lord on December 11, 2011. Della was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and care-giver. She was the wife of Weldon Dufrene for 50 years, and Clarence Bellamore for 20 years. Della, was born on December 11, 1917 in Delta Farms, LA., to Sylvester and Victoria Chiasson, and was the second of eight children. Immediate survivors include her three children and their spouses, Weldon Dufrene (Millie), Deanna Guillot (Bill) and Jeanette Guidry (Kenny), her sister, Irene Melancon, brother, Gus Chiasson. She is also survivor by many other loving relatives and friends too numerous to name. Della had pride in herself and her zest for life was reflected in everything she did. She had passion and a God given talent as a seamstress and her creations in design was a true gift. Della also had extraordinary compassion for people less fortunate than herself. She believed in visiting the sick and helped anyone in need. She was a hard worker and had strong opinions in what she believed in. She was small but mighty and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Family and friends are invited to a visitation with the family at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Westwego from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 Della’s Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at the church and interment will be immediately following the mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery – Gate of Heaven Mausoleum. A special “Thank You” and invitation is extended to her care givers, nurses and all other staff members of Woldenberg Village and Heart of Hospice. MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES is in charge of arrangements.
