Della Hidalgo Martinez peacefully ascended into Heaven on April 10, 2017 at the age of 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Naldo Martinez. Mother of Wayne Martinez and mother-in-law of the late Christina Ann Roper Martinez. Grandmother of Kevin Martinez and grandmother-in-law of Gladys Rodriguez Martinez. Great-grandmother of Siera and Kylan Martinez. Daughter of the late Joseph Hidalgo and Mary Jane Lopez Hidalgo. Sister of the late Martin and Nash Hidalgo, Lucy Foster, Beatrice Diaz, Fred Rosa and Dora Christian. Sister-in-law of Margie Hidalgo. Godmother of Katherine Weaver. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Della is a native of Lecompte, LA and resided in Gretna, LA.
She is in Heaven with God and resting in Eternal Peace.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Hook and Ladder Cemetery in Gretna.
