Demples “Joyce” Olano Longino
9/24/1936-4/29/2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Demples Joyous Olano Longino announces her passing on April 29th, 2021 at 5:40 AM, at the age of 84. She was born on New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse. She retired from the Belle Chasse State School/Metropolitan Developmental Center. Joyce, as most knew her, was a wonderful lady that was loved by so many. She tried to always see the positive in everyone. She was compassionate and a wonderful listener. She made herself available to any who needed her. She tackled life’s many challenges, but always found God’s strength to get up and go again. She always said, as God would have it “things are going to be okay”! Joyce made sure those she loved always knew it, as she told them at every chance. Her most precious gifts in life were her two Granddaughters Callie and Tiffany, and her Great Grandchildren Ragan, Lainey, Clayton Ray, and Jaxon. Joyce will be joining her parents Randolph Olano and Levenia Badaux Olano, as well as her siblings Quintin Olano, Harold Olano, and Gladys Olano Zar. Joyce is survived by her last living sibling Randolph J. Olano Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews. Joyce will be happy to reunite with her husband of 64 years Herman Ray Longino, and beloved son Ronnie Ray Longino (Melissa) Our family wishes to extend a special thank you to family, friends, and Compassus Doctors, Nurses, and staff who sat and cared for Joyce as she fought her fight so strongly. Arrangements are left in the care of Mothe’s Funeral Home. There will be no public service. Condolences may be expressed at www. mothefunerals.com.
