Dennis William "Dan" Fontenot

Dennis William “Dan” Fontenot, Col., Ph.D., passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013. Beloved husband of Kerri Fontenot. Loving stepfather of Alex Deshowitz and Kyle Deshowitz. Son of Jacqueline Papworth and the late Maurice Fontenot. Age, 62 years. A native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Col. Fontenot was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who served in Special Forces. He received his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and was a professor at Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Algiers, LA. Dan loved his country and his family and he will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 1 PM. Interment will be private. Parlors will be open Friday from 11 AM until 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Col. Fontenot’s name to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, www.fallenheroesfund.org
