Dennis Edward Hock, Sr. entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2024. Beloved husband of Carol Champagne Hock for 64 years. Father of Dennis Hock, Jr. (MeMe), Dana H. Blondiau (Greg), and Debra H. Chatelain (Glen). Grandfather of Ashton C. Galt (Josh), Taylor C. Kline (Carlee), Mia H. Gauthreaux (Gary), Dennis Hock, III (Jessica), Caroline Chatelain (Kevin) Ashlee Blondiau and Hannah Blondiau. Great-grandfather of Tucker Galt, Ella Grace Gauthreaux, and Rylee Gauthreaux. Son of the late Milton J. Hock Sr and Osceola Casler Hock. Brother of  Joycelyn Champagne (late C.J.), Paulette Hock, the late Warren Hock, Raymond Hock (late Exia), Dolores “Tuttie” H. Kepner (late Doc), and Milton Hock, Jr. (Katie). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who adored him; especially Michelle Champagne, Francine C. Wooton (Tony), Paige C. Loga (Emerson), and Jay Champagne (Danielle).

Affectionally known by his grandchildren as “Pops” he also had special nicknames for them!

Dennis graduated from Holy Name of Mary High school in 1957. In 1956 he entered the US Air Force Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1962. He attended college at Southeastern University in Hammond, as well as Tulane University in New Orleans. 

A lover of travel, he and his wife Carol traveled the globe with his sister Joycelyn and brother in law, CJ. They explored Russia, Alaska, France Europe, The Caribbean and The Medditeranian, as well as the Continental United States just to name a few. Their travels didn’t stop there as they also enjoyed many adventures with their children and dear friends.   

 Dennis was a native of Algiers,Louisiana, and raised his family in Belle Chasse, Louisiana before retiring to Slidell Louisiana in 1998.

 Dennis had a gift of the gab which lead him to a long successful career in sales with General Electric Co. Dennis was a charter member of the Fighting 69ers which began in high school and remained a member until almost  80 years old.  He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. Most always shared with his friends and family.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Algiers, LA on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 11 AM. Interment private. Memorial Visitation will be held at church from 9 AM until mass time. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations St. Jude Children's Hospital or Tunnels to Towers.
