Dennis J. Rojas, Sr.

Dennis Joseph Rojas, Sr., age 82, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 30, 2013. Husband of Doris Elliott Rojas. Father of Laurie Rojas (Bobby) and Dennis J. Rojas, Jr. (Norean). Son of the late George Rojas, Jr. and Ellen Maise. Brother of the late Doris Otero, Raymond Rojas, Sr. and Alvin Rojas, Sr. Grandfather of Norman Smith, Jr., C.J. Rogers and Brandon Rogers. Great-grandfather of Rashad Smith. Native of Lafitte, LA and resident of Plaquemines Parish for the last 53 years.
Dennis was a great lifelong commercial fisherman. He dedicated his life to preserving the true culture of Louisiana shrimpers. From the bayous of Lafitte to the back bays of Venice, he was always there ready to help someone. He enjoyed many festivals with his wife of 56 years, Doris, and many friends along the way. He will be truly missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.
