Derrel Dale Pierce, Sr.

Derrel D. Pierce, Sr. passed away at Riverbend Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 6:45AM from complications of cancer at the age of 69. Husband of JoAnn Camardelle Pierce. Brother of Jennie Pierce Madere (Larry). Father of Derrel D. Pierce, Jr., Darren S. Pierce (Dawn), Sherri Pierce Hayes (Eddie) and Stacie Pierce Grimes (Mike). Stepfather to Spencer C. Constant, Jr. (Daina). Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 2 step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Pierce, Jr. and Rose Toups Pierce; his brother, Delbert Pierce, Sr. (Frances) and his granddaughter, Daina Nicole Pierce. He was a resident of Westwego, LA. Derrel was a 32nd Degree Mason and Member of William D. White #408 F&AM Masonic Lodge, The Jerusalem Temple Shriners, Order of Rose Croix and The Road Runners. He was also a 30 year Member and Officer of Jefferson Gun Hunting Club. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to West Jefferson Cancer Center, Total Home Health Care, Vital DME, Hospice Compassus and Riverbend Nursing Home for their outstanding care, support and thoughtfulness. He was employed at H.B. Buster Hughes (HBH, Inc)/Sunland for 50 years. A Visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9AM until 1PM. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 12 Noon followed by a Funeral Mass at 1PM. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum (Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery), Westwego, LA.
