Diane Colvin Bays

Diane Colvin Bays passed away on the evening of Sunday, April 10, 2011 in the arms of her loving mother and sister. Diane was 56 and a native of Algiers, La. She was the cherished wife of Larry Bays, loving mother of Jamie Bays and stepmother to Mark Bays. She was also grandmother to Jordan Bays, Kayla Bays and Olivia Bays. Diane was the daughter of Clara Ledet Colvin and the late Ellis DeVonne Colvin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Colvin Bealer . She is survived by her siblings; Donna Colvin Eads, David Colvin, Richard Colvin and Sandy Colvin Marinello, nieces; Rachel Colvin, Rebecca Colvin, Lauren Colvin, Amie Bealer Sanchez, Jennifer Bealer Gambrill, Allyson Marinello, Julia Marinello and Lily Grace Marinello, nephews; Brandon Colvin, Dylan Colvin and Robert Bealer, Jr. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews and many relatives. Diane was truly cherished by her family and friends. She was known for her tremendous kindness, spirit, courage and dignity. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, La., at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Lillian Academy, 8130 Kelwood Avenue, Baton Rouge, La., 70806.
