Donald Eugene Gardner, Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Henrietta Sanders Gardner. Father of Donnie E. Gardner, Jr. (Tatum). Grandfather of Kinley, Emmy, and Landry Gardner. Brother of Betty Jo Sherman, Linda Wheeler, Bob, Larry Gardner and the late Raymond Gardner. Brother in law of Steve and Madeline Sarbeck and John Sanders. Uncle of Shelley Ditta, John Sanders III, John Sanders II, Mark Sanders, Jessica and Audrey Sanders and Courtney Ditta. Son of the late Rhea McElroy Gardner and Carl Bremen Gardner. Mr. Gardner served 4 years in the U.S. Navy stationed in the Philippines during the Laos Crisis where he was a Decoder with a Top Secret Clearance. He was the first sales Manager of Avondale Steel Sales. He founded Triple G Steel, Inc where his family continues to work. He attended Loyola University, New Orleans, LA. A native of Ada, Ohio and a resident of Gretna, LA. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2012 from 9AM until 11AM.
