Donald Gautreaux

On April 11, 2011, Donald J. Gautreaux, Sr. passed away. He was born in Westwego and a resident of Des Allemands, LA for the past 23 years. He was a retired Owner/Operator and Musician. Beloved husband of Betty Bergeron Gautreaux. Son of the late Lofroid and Rose Gautreaux. Brother of the late Anna Mae Sandras, Irene St. Blanc, Leone Landry, Hiawatha Dean and Shirley Parrino. Survived by sons, Donlee, Dale and Donald J. Gautreaux, Jr. Also survived by step children, Edward, Dwane, Shawn and Paul Buras, Naomi Autin, Robin Whalen and the late Leon and Torey Buras. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Mr. Gautreaux was a Veteran of the 39th Division 4th Army Band, being discharged in 1951 as a Staff Sargent. He was a member of Council #2409 Knights of Columbus, a 4th Degree Member of Msgr. Paul J. Richard Assembly 2053, and belonged to the International Order of Alhambra Pelaya Caravan No. 178. He was also inducted into the Westbank Musicians Hall of Fame in 2004 and as the Senior Member of the Chiffons in 2006. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 10AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be in McDonogh Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Msgr. Paul J.
