Donald G. Hetzler

Donald G. Hetzler passed away on April 2, 2012 at the age of 67 years. He was a native of St. Paul, MN and resided in Marrero, LA for the past 35 years. Beloved husband of Diana Pane Hetzler. Father of Jennifer H. Ritchie (Curt) and Matthew D. Hetzler (Laura). Grandfather of Caroline and Kate Ritchie and Marion Hetzler. Brother of Gerald Hetzler, Joni Egan (Larry), Doug Hetzler (Karen) and Connie Erickson (Reid). Son of the late Margaret Marion Malloy Hetzler and Harold Eugene Hetzler.
Don was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant and later retired from Jefferson Parish as a Juvenile Probation Officer. He was devoutly spiritual, a devoted family man, a talented craftsman and woodworker and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel.
He will be interred with Military Honors on Wednesday, April 11th at the Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, LA.
