Donald J (Don) Marcel, born in Montegut, La on April 5,1948, promoted to Heaven on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 76 at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

He is the beloved husband of 20 years to Wanda Gayle Marcel by 2nd marriage and the late Susann Elizabeth Marcel. He is the son of the late Daunis J Marcel and Elsie R Marcel. Loving father of Christopher J Marcel (Amy St. Germain), and late Jeffrey D Marcel. Loving grandfather of Christopher P Marcel (Kayla), Joshua Marcel, Jacob St. Germain (Elyssa) and Haley Marcel. Great grandfather of Aria Marcel, late Marshall Marcel and Ethan Marcel. Donald is the stepfather of Brenda Chighizola (Timmy) and Densel O’Conner. Step grandfather of Josh Smith, Jessie Humble, Amy Gonzalez (Guillermo), Frank Woolley (Meagan), Lacey Claxten (Jonathan). He is the step great-grandfather of Collins Addelynn, Baylee Smith, Adrianna Herron, Elijah Herron, Jonathan Cerigny, Mykel Gonzalez, Pierce Monroe, Paxton Charles, Piper Hazel, and Skylar Wade. He is the step great great grandfather of Elianna Herron. 

His funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13th at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
