DONNA LYNN VICARI
April 25, 1964 – February 13, 2014
Donna Lynn Vicari entered eternal rest on February 13, 2014 at the age of 49. Cherished daughter of Guy Anthony Vicari and the late Barbara Falgout Vicari. Preceded in death by her brother Chris, and grandparents Salvador and Marie Vicari and Guy and Irene Falgout, Sr.
Donna is survived by her sisters Lesley Knapp (Thomas), Beth Fisher (Ric), and Julie Vicari. Affectionately known as Tawnty by nephews Ryan and James Knapp, she is also survived by her step-family Mary Beth Vicari, Stephen Shaw, John Shaw and Maria Archer, a large extended family and countless friends.
A proud New Orleans native, Donna graduated from O.P. Walker High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of New Orleans. She was a highly devoted Special Education and Deaf Education teacher adored by her students. She was a dedicated member of the national service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega earning the Distinguished Key Service Member Award, a perfect reflection of her innate desire to help others. She was an LSU Tigers fan, a member of the Who Dat Nation, and Barry Manilow’s number one fan. Witty, compassionate and creative, Donna’s playful spirit came straight from her heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Donna’s life on Wednesday, February 19 at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, La. Visitation will be held from 9-11am, with Mass in the chapel beginning at 11am. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery immediately following.
