Doris Burgett

Doris Virginia (Granny) Flora Burgett peacefully passed away on March 3, 2011. She was 93 years of age and resided in Luling, LA. She was the daughter of the late Minnie Mae Butt and Bernice David Flora. She was the beloved wife of the late William Lester Burgett and the loving and devoted mother of Kay Havis of Victoria, Texas, Genell McMann (husband, Don) of Stuart, Florida and Mary Lou Sumrall of Luling, LA and the sister of Harold Flora of Alvin, Texas. Left to cherish her memory with her daughters and brother are her grandchildren, Les Posey, Doug Posey, Kim Freehauf, Laura Brackett, Don McMann, Jr., Kimberly Keser and her fourteen great grandchildren, Robert, Laura, Philip, Noah, Erin, Conner, Blake, Kelsey, Hannah, Rachel, Brandon, Cameron, Cindi and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Sumrall and great grandson, Jacob McMann. Relatives, friends, members and employees of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of New Orleans, La., St. Charles Parish Public Schools and Luling United Methodist Church are invited to gather at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 4340 Sal Lentini Parkway, Kenner, La. on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. to share fond remembrances and celebrate the life of Virginia. A Memorial Service will follow and a private family interment will take place at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
