HONOREE - Doris Claire Wichterich Gogreve Honoree’, born August 13,
1933, was called home by our Lord on November 5, 2016. She was 83 years old.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William A. Gogreve, Jr., her second husband, Elwood G. Honoree’, and her daughter, Kimberly G. Nuccio (Charles Jr.). Loving Mother of Deborah G. Dorsa (John), Beth G. Raymond
(Gerald Sr.), and Nancy Gogreve Keeler. Loving step Mother of Michael E. Honoree’ and Renee H. Foote (Keith). Loving Grandmother of Gerald Jr., Joshua, Corey, Jason, Charles III, William, Celeste, Byron, Laura, Colin and Julia. Loving step Grandmother of Jared and Seth. Loving Great Grandmother of Collin, as well as loving aunt to a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sister of Audrey Benit and the late Henry Wichterich, Cora Wichterich, Betty Gascon, Lydia Kimbrel, Milton Wichterich and Alvin Wichterich. Daughter of the late Henry J. Wichterich and Lydia P. Wichterich. Doris was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana and a devout Lutheran. She loved having family gatherings such as Christmas Parties, Backyard Bar-b-ques, Picnics in City Park, Easter Egg Hunts and cooking for the family. She was a giving, loving person who loved with her whole heart unconditionally. She would literally give you the shirt off of her back. She gave of herself and never expected anything in return. She bowled with the Lutheran Laymen League for over 40 years. She volunteered at Salem Lutheran School where she was lovingly referred to as "Maw Maw" by everyone. She was a sincere Patriot. Her hobbies included making puzzles, sewing, needlepoint, crocheting, quilting, and many other crafts. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Retired from Sieffert and Sons. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 6336 Berkley Drive, Algiers, LA 70131 on Monday November 21, 2016 from 10AM – 11AM. Religious Memorial Service will follow. Interment Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church in her name.
