Doris Trosclair Damico

Doris Mae Trosclair Damico, born September 10, 1926, entered into “Glory” on September 1, 2012. There she joined her loving husband of 51 years, Salvador “Sam” Damico, Sr. and their son, Salvador “Sal” Damico, Jr. She is the daughter of the late Horace Trosclair and Hilda Plaisance Trosclair. She is the daughter in law of the late Carlo Damico and Mary Scaccia Damico. Doris is the beloved mother of two surviving daughters, Gwendolyn Damico LeCompte (Melvin Sr.) and Maria Damico Hebert (Mike). She is the grandmother of Melvin “Mel” LeCompte Jr. (Michelle), Amber Granier (Kim), Angie Granier Simon (Ryan), Sal Drake Fusilier and Doris LeCompte Wild (Chad) as well as the great grandmother of Krystin and Maycee LeCompte, Morgan and Dhaun Domingue, Chad Anthony Wild, Kamryn Granier, Kaden and Demi Simon. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Horace “Hoppy” Trosclair, Jr. (Edith), Hilda “Tobay” Trosclair Duay (Donald), James “Jimmy” Troclair (Grace), Nathaniel “Nat” Trosclair Sr. (Ruby), Daniel Trosclair (Eva) and Melba T. Kern (Melvin). She was born in Biloxi, MS and was a lifelong resident of Westwego until she had to move with her daughter to receive Alzheimer’s and later Hospice care. She retired from John Ehret High School as a food service worker, where she loved cheering for the Patriots with the “Lunch Bunch”. She loved to travel and lived a very healthy, active and blessed life. She also enjoyed being a blessing to her many friends who needed transportation or TLC. Her family wishes to thank St. Joseph Hospice, especially Martha and Jennifer, two beautiful Home Health “Angel” Nurses who made it possible for her to live in a comfortable, loving home environment. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11AM with Rev. Chip Radke officiating.
