Doris Bennett Hebert

On Friday, July 27, 2012 at 6:34 pm, Mrs. Doris Bennett Hebert left our presence to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA. Visitation will be held on Wed., Aug. 1st from 6-10pm and Thurs., Aug. 2nd from 8-11am with funeral services to begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. Mrs. Hebert was approaching her 91st birthday. She grew up in Algiers, La. and was the daughter of Emma Matchett Bennett and Charles Bennett, the sister of Margaret Wactor, Martin B. Bennett, and Joseph W. Bennett. She married Leon J. Hebert and had 2 daughters, Michelle H. Ellis & Suzanne H. Manint. In 1962, already a garden club activist & PTA member, she became a Real Estate Agent. Six years later, she became a Broker and started the firm, Doris Hebert Realtor with over 250 agents. She loved this profession, worked at it enthusiastically and retired in 2011 at age 89. In 2010, she received the award of Realtor Emeritus.
Her life has touched many people; she will be missed by her 2 sons in law, William Ellis and Michael Manint, 6 loving grandchildren: Scott, Aaron & Nicholas Ellis, Jerry, Brent & April Manint. Great grandchildren include Carrson, Joshua & Lana K. Manint, Raleigh Simpkins, Jude & Lennon Ellis.
Nieces include Doris Thomas & Joal Bennett-Stenvel. Nephews include: Dr. James Bennett, Jeffrey Bennett & LJ Wactor.
Mrs. Hebert was a member of Hickory Knoll Church of Christ, which she loved.
