Doris Mae Legendre Treadaway passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Marrero, LA at the age of 94. She was born in Chackbay, Louisiana on August 22,1919 and was a resident of Harvey, Louisiana for 89 years. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Walter M. “Guy” Treadaway and daughter of the late Lorena Marse Legendre and Avie Etienne Legendre. Daughter-in-law of the late William Victor and Mamie Bartolo Treadaway. She is survived by her children, Katherine Elaine T. Savona (the late Carlos Joseph Savona) and Dwight Stephen Treadaway (Mary); her granddaughters, Lesley Savona Babcock (Ryan) and Laurie Savona Savell (Jarrett). She was the great grandmother to Elizabeth Anne and Andrew Michael Babcock and Madison Grace Savell. She was the sister of Audrey Legendre Katicich (the late Mervin) and the late Bernice Legendre Landry (the late Dorsey) and sister-in-law of Margaret Treadaway Vicknair and the late Donald Vicknair, William and Vivian Treadaway and Grace T. and Dewey Coulon. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Doris was an Avon representative for 35 years, a past member of the Sweet Adelines, an avid reader and crossword puzzle maker and an excellent seamstress. She loved music and traveling with her husband, family and friends. She was awarded the “Order of St. Louis Medallion” for her many years of service to St. Rosalie Church parish as a reader, choir member, fair worker and altar society member. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Nurses and Staff of Notre Dame Hospice and Wynhoven Health Care Center for their love and care. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 9AM until 10:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 601 Second Avenue, Harvey, Louisiana on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
