Dorothy H. Wallace

Dorothy H. Wallace passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 after a lengthy illness with pulmonary fibrosis. Beloved wife of 48 years to Irvin W. Wallace. Mother of Frank A. Coolidge, Charles J. Coolidge (Erin), Ann W. Ewing (Charles), Jane W. Gilcrease, and the late John A. Wallace. Grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Capt. Arthur W. Higgins and the late Elizabeth Higgins. Sister of Edna Weir and the late Mary Jane Higgins Erwin. She was born in Biloxi, MS and spent most of her life in the New Orleans area. She lived in Belle Chasse, LA for the past 57 years and was a retired federal employee. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, William D. White Chapter No. 141, O.E.S. Also a member of the Belle Chasse Lions Club and a founding member of Belle Chasse Community Methodist Church. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a funeral service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11 AM. Interment Lakelawn Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9 AM until funeral time.
