Dyton O. Ruiz, Nopd (Ret.)

October 17, 1940 — July 19, 2015

Dyton O. Ruiz, NOPD (Ret.) peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Beloved and loving companion of Joan Dumser. Loving father of Deborah Boudreaux, Dyton Ruiz, Jr., Dawn “Betsy” Boudreaux (Aaron) and Diann Daigle (Peter). He is survived by his 4 grandsons, Tyler Schafer, Terry Branford, Jr., Don Boudreaux, Jr., and Logan Daigle; his brother, Eugene and his sisters, June and Notissa as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Dyton is preceded in death by his parents, the late Paul Ruiz, Sr. and Nettie Oser Ruiz; his siblings, Paul Jr., Robert, Domingo, Thomas Sr., Gerry and Nettie. He was a member of FOP Crescent City Lodge #2 and a longtime Tyler of Level Lodge #373. Dyton was also a Jerusalem Shriner, Past Commander of Disabled Veterans of America and a member of the American Legion Post 0555. Dyton served his country while enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Retired Army Airborne. He was a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 9AM until 11:30AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:30AM. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery No. 2, New Orleans, LA.
