Earl Joseph Hynes Jr.

December 19, 1928 — April 6, 2015

Earl Joseph Hynes Jr., 86, entered the gates of heaven on Monday, April 06, 2015 at his home in Harvey. Mr. Hynes was born December 19, 1928 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Earl and Thelma Hynes. As a young man, he enjoyed boxing, spending time with his family, and helping out at his stepfather's (Peter Bertucci) restaurant. He married Constance Blalock and they had one beautiful daughter, Heidi Hynes. He worked as a bellhop at the Roosevelt Hotel, formerly known as the Fairmont, in New Orleans for 42 years. He is survived by his granddaughter, Taylor Hynes, and his brother-in-law Phillip Blalock. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Peter; sister Roma; wife Constance; and daughter Heidi. Mr. Hynes also leaves behind his beloved animals Selena and Lulu. Thank you to the staff at West Jefferson Medical Center and a very special thank you to the 5 angels who made Mr. Hynes' last days comfortable and happy; Althea Gilmore, Michelle Trosclair, Mary Hinds, Barbara Key, and Casey Calante.
