Earl Joseph Tardiff

Earl Joseph Tardiff, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday April 25, 2022. Earl was a lifelong native of Marrero, Louisiana. Earl was born on December 17, 1938, to Earl A. Tardiff and Mary Lucito Tardiff.
He is the beloved husband of Merle B. Tardiff. Beloved father of Tammy Bulen, Penny T. Thomassie (Troy), and the late Dale R. Tardiff. He is the grandfather of Tiffany Dantin (Michael), Cerris T. Kent (Philip), and Lauren Bulen (Patrick). He is the great grandfather to Watson Kent. Dog grandpa to Simba. Brother of Barbara T. Smith (Warren) and the late Kenneth Tardiff and Mary Alice T. Forsyth. He leaves behind his two sisters in laws Gail B. Barnes and Judy B. Meaux; that he loved like his own sisters. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, and his godchild Ryan Tardiff.
Earl started working at the age of nine years old. He had many jobs throughout his lifetime. Earl joined the National Guard Battery "A" 141 F ABN at sixteen years old. Before joining the military Earl would cut his friends hair which led him to go to barber school in 1966. He was a barber for fifty-two years. He owned Earl's Barber Shop (Roman Cut) that his daughter Penny worked with him for twenty-nine years. She will miss seeing him walk through the doors and talking to the customers. Earl was a Mason 32"'at William D. White Lodge. He was a member of the Italian American Society. He served on the board of Parc de Families and couldn't wait to see it completed.
His hobbies were hunting and fishing. Later in his years fishing became his sport. He shared the love of hunting and fishing with his granddaughter Cerris and her husband. He also enjoyed carpentry.
Family, friends, coffee drinking buddies, and patrons of Earls Barber Shop are invited to join his family in celebrating his life on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La 70058, from 6pm to 8pm and will resume on Friday morning at 9am until the time of the Funeral Mass. Mass will begin at 11am and interment will immediately follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, La.
