Earnest (Ernest) Leroy Weber, Sr., known to some as “Kid”, was born March 29, 1943. Earnest was a resident of Marrero, LA. But on Friday, May 6, 2016, God saw that he was getting tired and called him home. Earnest is the son of the late Sidney and Permilla Carter Weber.
Earnest was the husband of Myrtle Walker Weber. They have two sons, Rev. Ernest L. Weber, Jr. and Elder Derek M. Weber, Sr. Earnest was the devoted, loving husband and caregiver to his wife and sons.

He was the captain of the Lincoln High School Mighty Trojan’s Football Team; played defensive linebacker from 7th through 12th grades; was the proud wearer of jersey #31. This football legend played ball during the time Lincoln and Landry were tough rivals. After graduating from Lincoln High, he received a scholarship and attended Mississippi State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi.
Earnest worked at Avondale Shipyard in Harvey. He was a landscaper by trade, entrepreneur, and a collector of odd pieces.
Earnest is one of nine children. His brothers are: Rev. Joseph Sidney (Audrey), Larry (Deborah), Melvin (Mary), Albert and Michael Weber. His sisters are: the late Natalie W. Levy (Nathaniel), Elaine W. Steib (Raymond), and Jacqueline W. Francis (Leroy). He is Godfather to Patricia “Tenny” Adams.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Myrtle Weber; two sons, Rev. Ernest Weber, Jr. and Elder Derek Weber, Sr.; His loving mother, Permilla Carter Weber; five brothers, Rev. Joseph Sidney, Larry, Melvin, Albert, and Michael Weber; two sisters, Elaine W. Steib and Jacqueline W. Francis; a devoted daughter-in-law, Cheynne’ C.
