Edith Diaz Smith

Edith Diaz Smith passed away on January 13, 2012 at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Neal A. Smith. Mother of Claudette S. Ott (the late David Ott). Grandmother of Dawn Ott Goode (Andrew), Danette Ott (Heath Talley) and Anette Ott Colledge (Adam). Great-grandmother of Abigail, Olivia and Trista. Sister of Wilfred and Earl Diaz, Eulamae Theriot, Marion Comeaux, the late Irene, Milton and Junius Diaz. Daughter of the late Elmire Dominique Diaz and Marcellus Diaz. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends. She was a native of Raceland, LA and was a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA and a lifetime member of St. Rosalie Church. The family extends their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Belle Vie Living Center, St. Joseph Hospice and West Jefferson Alzheimer’s Day Care Unit for the compassion and care received. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 5 PM to 9 PM and Wednesday from 9 AM to 11 AM.
