Edmund Herbert Kravet, Jr. born September 26, 1931 in New Orleans, LA Irish Channel entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Helen Jane Wiltz Kravet. Son of the late Edmund Herbert Kravet, Sr. and Beulah Childress Kravet. Loving and devoted father of Thomas David Kravet (Janis), Richard Steven Kravet (Tina), Mary Beth Kravet Courtney (Wendell), Michael Anthony Kravet (Lori) and Melissa Geryl Kravet Sutherland (Trent). Grandfather of Shelley, Kathryn, Cara, Clare, Cathleen, Clinton, Patrick, Avery, Zachary, Devon, Taylor, Jude, and Elizabeth. Brother of Richard Kravet (Wife, the late Joyce), Adine Kravet Hamback (Charles) and the late Donald Kravet (Survived by wife, Joyce). Son-in-law of the late Philip and Elizabeth Wiltz. Edmund graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1950. He served Active Duty in the Naval Reserve from 1950 until 1953. Mr. Edmund was a former Electrical Construction Foreman with Chevron USA for 33 years, a parishioner at St. Cletus Catholic Church and Leader with the Boy Scouts of America in which he started Troop 796 at St. Cletus Catholic Church. He was the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion for service in the Catholic Church and he received the Wooden Tomahawk and Silver Beaver from the Boy Scouts for outstanding service. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 11AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
