Edmund Benedict Ott, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the age of 76. Beloved and loving husband of Virgie T. Ott for 52 years. Son of the late Edmund B. Ott, Sr. and Elizabeth Cleveland Ott. Father of Julie L. Ott of Gretna, LA and Jill E. Ott also of Gretna, LA. Brother of Floyd Ott (Wife Gaynell), Libby Ott Talamo (Husband Sonny), Patricia Ott, Joan Ott (Paul Shorter) and Jean Ott Marchese (Husband Chris). Edmund was a member of the Gretna Historical Society, German-American Cultural and Genealogical Society of Louisiana, Crescent City Depression Glass Society, New Orleans Bromeliad Society, Longtime devoted Santa Claus to the City of Gretna, Chinchuba Institute for the Deaf and Toys for Tots Foundation. He was a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 7PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday from 8:30AM until 9:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street, Gretna, LA on Thursday at 10AM.
