Edna Katheryn Duncan Cupples

Edna Katheryn Duncan Cupples passed peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 101 in the comforting grace of her family’s love.

Katheryn was a force to behold when it came to her faith, her loyalty and her love. She endured over a century of our collective history, as a kind and generous woman. She was a devote Catholic and a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother. She was joyful, playful and adventurous in life and in spirit. She was our matriarch, our teacher, our healer, our friend. Also a Gin Rummy and Dominos savant. The pain of her absence is felt by generations. We will cherish her love in our hearts, forever.

Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Macile Marion Cupples, mother of Marion Annette Cupples Ross and the late Charles Wiley Cupples. Grandmother of Michele Cupples, Adele Amy Ahrens (and Mark) Thonn, Melissa Hutchinson, Dee (and Shannon) Womack, Katherine Webb and Benjamin (and Katie) Ross. Great Grandmother of Zoë, Mackay, Christopher (Lauren), Christian (Taylor), Jacob (Danielle), Carson, Bailey, Tres, Hannah, Charlie, Corbyn, Justine, Emma, Ella, and Levi. Great-great Grandmother of Harper, Briggs and Eliza Faye. Also survived by her loving caretaker, Darlene Burnham, and many loving relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Terrytown Country Club, Terrytown Grand Squares, V.F.W. Post No. 5733, U.S. Postal Service, retirees of N.A.S. New Orleans and Brown & Root are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 2pm. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12pm until 2pm. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery
