Edward Story Fugier

Edward Story Fugier passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mr. Fugier, age 75 years, was a native of Newnan,GA and a longtime resident of Avondale, LA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara Hoeltke Fugier. He is the devoted father of Stephanie Fugier Wray (husband, Johnny). He adored his granddaughters, Kasey and Ashley. Son of the late Mary Story Fugier, Victor O. Fugier and step-son of the late Olene Fugier. Brother of Mary Fugier Lightsey (husband, Fred) and the late Russell and Kenneth Fugier. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Mr. Fugier retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after serving 22 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded various medals including both the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart. After retirement he owned and operated Fugier Safety Services and participated in many civic activities. He will be remembered for his generosity and fondly missed by his family and friends.
