Edward Julian Melancon Sr. passed away on October 26, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Clara D. Melancon for 49 years. Father of Edward J. Melancon, Jr. (Leslie), Theresa M. Badeaux (Richard), Angel Melancon Cline (William), Connie E. Wright (Phil Williamson), William J. Melancon Sr., and the late Dennis P. Melancon. Grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 6. Son of the late Onile F. Melancon and Gertrude Arceneaux Melancon. Brother of Salvadore Porrovecchio Sr. (Mollie), Mary M. Gates (Wayne), Johnny Melancon Sr. (Susan), Judy M. Price (Alan), Michael Melancon Sr. (Virginia), and the late Joseph Porrovecchio, Jr. and Frank Porrovecchio, Sr. (late Ethel). Also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Age 68 years and lifelong resident of the Westbank. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Former produce manager of National Canal Villere and truck driver for Impala Transportation. Member of the Moose Lodge in Harvey, LA and a league bowler with Expressway Lanes.
