Elaine Borne Shelley

Elaine Borne Shelley passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late James H. Shelley, Jr. for over 40 years. Mother of Terrance Shelley (Marilyn), Brenda Shelley Jinright, Colleen Shelley Chehardy (Robby), and Jamie Shelley DeSalvo (Damian). Daughter of the late Walter and Elise Borne. Sister of Carol Borne Dickmann. Grandmother of Brandi Shelley, Terri Adams (Stephen), Shane Shelley (Jennifer) and Brent Shelley, Blaire Jinright Ortego (Grant), Robert Chehardy III, Matthew Chehardy (Madeline), Jamison Houghton (Cassie), and Alexis DeSalvo Breaud (Tommy). Great- grandmother of Mason Shelley (Cassidy), Brice Fisher, Brynlee Acy, Eden, Ember, and Isaiah Ortego, Tristan, Trace, Brooklyn and Jett Adams, Tanner, Talyn and Tenley Shelley, Colton Goins and Lily Breaud. Great- great -grandmother of Ty and Colt Shelley, and Charlotte DiMartino. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her faith, love, devotion and patience were instilled in her heart and onto her family.  She loved life, traveling, dancing, and singing. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines for years and a member of the Red Hatters.  She was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Ochsner West Bank ICU doctors and nurses for their care during her stay.
