Eldon Ray Catlett entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Geuy Catlett, of 48 years; his brothers, Delmar Catlett (Linda), Norman Catlett (Susan) and James Catlett (Wauneta) and brother-in-law, John Geuy (Barbara). He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don D. Catlett and Rose Ellen Hanika Catlett.
He was born and raised in Richardson Country, Nebraska, but has resided on the Westbank for the past 49 years. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas and worked as a petroleum engineer for Texaco for 30 years. He was also a U. S. Navy veteran.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 6336 Berkley Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
His wife wishes to thank the East Jefferson Pulmonary Rehab staff for their services and encouragement over the past six years, Angelina Sever and Joy Stacker from Home Instead Senior Care and St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion over the past few weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
