Eldrid Dugas “Chookie” Gomez entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of 66 years to Elwood Gomez, Sr. Daughter of the late Henry and Eugenie Dugas. Mother of Elwood Gomez, Jr. (Wife Gay) and Charlotte Gomez Hendricks (Husband Gary). Grandmother of Jeffery Gomez, Brandon Hendricks, Travis Bourgeois, Kevin Hendricks, Corey Bourgeois and Erica Gomez. Great Grandmother of Cayden, Madison, Paxton and Sarah. Sister of Cameron Dugas, Rudy Dugas, Janel Clement and the late Bernice Abadie, Dorothy Hunter, Alvin Dugas and Henry Dugas. She was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday from 8AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
