Elizabeth Ann McMahon passed away on October 28, 2023 at the age of 85. She was a loving and caring mother to Maj Bradshaw (Mike), Carthy Guillet (Tom) and Edward “Ned” McMahon IV. Grandmother to Jason Fortun (Dominique), Jessica Gibson (Dustin) and Jeanne Goubert (Chad); great grandchildren, Landen and Sophie Soileau, Jacob and Payton Goubert and Nico Fortun; and step grandchild, Jennifer Toursakission (Karim). She is survived by her loving brother, Dr. James McCarthy and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her long-term companion, Earl McNail; Edward McMahon III, the father of her children; her siblings, Mary Picou, William “Bill” McCarthy, Catherine “Kate” Manual and Leo Louis McCarthy; and her parents, Leo Louis McCarthy and Elizabeth Maddock McCarthy. Ann graduated from St. Scholastica Academy and Southwestern University in Lafayette, LA with a degree in Elementary Education. After 30 years of teaching, she retired from the Jefferson Parish School Board. During her teaching career, she established a lifelong friendship with Joyce St. Pierre, Rosalind Mathes, Terri Shaw and Susan Henderson. Ann had numerous lifelong friends who she cherished. A Celebration of Life will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 9:30AM until 1PM.
