Elliott Joseph Raley

Elliott Joseph “E.J.” Raley, Jr. age 68 years passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 after a long battle with brain cancer. Loving husband of Carlie Morel Raley who, after 52 years of marriage, he still referred to as “his bride”. He is also survived by his daughter, Debbie Prendergast (Brian); his son E.J. Raley III (Jan); 5 grandchildren, Erica Raley Jones (Donnie), E.J. Raley IV, Travis Prendergast, Josh Raley, Kathleen Prendergast and 3 great grandchildren, Kaleb and Remi Raley and Cason Jones. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy Raley Barcia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stella Daward Raley and Elliott J. Raley, Sr. as well as a great grandchild, Raley Jones. E.J. entered the Air Force in 1960 and served his country for eight years. In 1968, he became an Allstate Insurance Agent and retired from Allstate at the age of 55. He enjoyed his family, his friends, his Catholic Faith and the many travels he shared with his loving wife, especially the trips to the United States National Parks. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the kind and caring staff at Heart of Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 11AM to 1:30PM.
