Elton “Jay” Lucien Cotton, III entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the age of 57. Loving and devoted husband of Desiree Lovett Cotton for 33 years. He was the most loving, caring, hard-working husband and their marriage was filled with many adventures and blessings. He was the eldest son of the late Elton Lucien Cotton Jr. and Evelyn Linder (Dave). He was a loving father figure for his adopted son Ridge. He was a devoted Uncle to Eden, Brett, Cameo, Emily, Talon, Jacob, and Charlize. He was also a loving "Uncle Jay" to Tyler, Kelsey, and Aidan. He was a devoted and loving brother of Daryl Cotton (Annette). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Beth and brother-in-law John (Leslie). Jay was born in Marrero, Louisiana, and was a resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana for 57 years. He was a dedicated long-term manager at Belle Chasse Marine Transportation for 40 years and performed multiple jobs for the company. He also provided bobcat and related services, through Dirt Work Brothers, with his brother Daryl since 2001.
Family, friends, and employees of Belle Chasse and Brighter Horizons, are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 9 AM until 1 PM, followed by Funeral Services in the Chapel at 1:30 PM.
