Elvin Ray Monk, Sr. entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2025. Beloved husband of Joan Bourgeois Monk. Father of Elvin Ray Monk, Jr. (Terry), Tim Monk (Riki), and David Monk (Mary). Grandfather of Holly Monk, Brittany Lindsey (Beau), Corey Monk (Amy), Beau Monk, Tristan Monk, and Ethan Monk. Great-grandfather of Austin, Laila, and Lea. Son of the late Emmet Monk and Ozema Beebe Monk. Brother of Shirley Lormand (late Edward) and the late Bobby Monk. Stepfather of Kathy Ramos (late Frank) and Kim Goff (Rhonda). Step-grandfather of Russell Harris (Michelle), Frank Ramos, Jr. (Jessica), Elizabeth Ramos, Brittney Lee (Jordan), and Bethany Billiot. Step-great-grandfather of Luna, Aaliyah, Sebastian, Adrina, Morais, and Seoul. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 86 years, a native of Sharp, LA and resident of Bridge City, LA. Ray was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Sears after 30 years as a service technician. Ray was an outdoorsman, loved to garden, watch western movies, and taking trips to the casino. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He would often visit with family at his birthplace Twin Oaks in Sharp, LA. He also loved taking trips to the Mississippi coast.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 11 AM.
