Emelda Sanchez Leathem passed away on February 15, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Beloved mother of Barbara L. McAvoy and her husband Patrick. Grandmother of Debra Adams and her husband Scott and Stephen McAvoy and his wife Connie. Great-grandmother of Cody, Charlie, Chad, Brittany and Broc. Sister of the late William J. Sanchez Jr., Calvin L. Sanchez, Roderic Sanchez, Bernard R. Sanchez and Joseph M. Sanchez. Daughter of the late William Joseph and Ione Serpas Sanchez. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
