Enola Landry Orgeron
October 19, 1927 — January 11, 2016
Enola Marie Landry Orgeron, 88, passed away January 11, 2016 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Enola was born in Chackbay, Louisiana, and moved to Harvey at age 18. She was active in many clubs and organizations including the American Legion Post #222 Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7307 Auxiliary, Belle Terre Golden Age Club, Knights of Columbus of Marrero Auxiliary, and the Westbank CODIFIL French Club.
Enola was an accomplished crocheter who delighted her family with beautiful blankets and afghans. She loved ballroom dancing and she enjoyed the many opportunities she had to extensively travel with the love of her life, her husband of 67 years, Lester Orgeron. She was a fine cook and made delicious meals, often using freshly picked vegetables from her carefully tended garden.
Enola is survived by her husband, Lester, and children Barbara Hakenjos, Robert (Sandy), and Glenn (RaMar); grandchildren Todd Hakenjos (Candace),Trisha Cavalier (Daniel), Nicole Orgeron, Cody Orgeron and Holly Orgeron; great-grandchildren Haley, Sayde and Carley Cavalier and Griffin and Logan Hakenjos.
The family greatly appreciates the support, care and many kindnesses of the staff from the Belle Chasse Riverbend Nursing Home.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 9 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 PM until 10 PM and Thursday from 8 AM until 9 AM.
