Ephen Joseph Macaluso

April 26, 1925 — September 24, 2014

Ephen “Mr. Mac” Joseph Macaluso passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Beloved husband of Vera Easley Macaluso. Father of Michael Macaluso (Stacie) and Tim Macaluso (Tracie). Son of the late Nicholas and Frances Calabrise Macaluso. Brother of Joseph Macaluso and the late Nick Macaluso. Grandfather of Deanna Miller (Mark), Leslie, Amanda, Kyle, and Gabrielle Macaluso. Great-grandfather of Makenzie and Rylie Miller. and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 89 years, a native of McDonoghville, LA and resident of New Orleans, LA. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1942. He served active duty in the United States Navy from 1943 until separation in 1946. He graduated from Loyola University in 1948 and graduate school at Northwestern University in 1951. He married Vera Easley July 26, 1953, worked for Moore Business Forms, was a LA High School Referee for 53 years, and a lifetime honorary member of the Westbank Quarterback Club, a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus and also, the Carnival Krewe of Alla and the Krewe of Janus. Mr. Mac will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1 PM. Interment McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 11 AM until 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association of Louisiana, 3445 N. Causeway Blvd, Suite 902, Metairie, LA 70002.
