Eric Thomas Engelhardt entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the age of 48. He was born in New Orleans, La. and grew up in Marrero, La. He is survived by his mother, Mary W. Guerrera (Tony) and his brother, Brandon P. Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father, Knut D. Engelhardt (Vonda). He was a graduate of John Ehret High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Following college, he was a band director, but left his teaching position to be in the touring musical show, CATS. He moved to New York City in 2005 and during his time in NYC, he was a Music Director at Barbershop Harmony Society, was the Artistic Director of Rittenhouse Sound, Former Assistant Director of Voices of Gotham and Former Province Governor of Phi Mu Alpha Sinforia Fraternity. Eric will be sadly missed by his family, associates and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eric Thomas Engelhardt Music/Musical Theater Scholarship established at Northwestern State University. This scholarship will honor Eric and help students who aspire to follow their dreams of a future in music. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 9AM until 11AM.
