Ernest F. Burmaster, Jr., owner of Burmaster and Sons and Burmaster Land, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011. Beloved husband of Lucille Steinkamp Burmaster from his second marriage, and the late Anna Mae Theriot Burmaster from his first marriage. Father of Sharon B. Landry (husband James), August Joseph “AJ” Burmaster (wife Mary Elizabeth), Ronald Charles Burmaster (wife Nila), Ernest F. Burmaster III, and the late Karen Ann Burmaster. Step-father of Richard Mobley (wife Rose), Alice Thibodeaux, and Elizabeth Boudreaux (husband Jerry). Brother of Warren, Shirley Carlone, Jerry Arnold, and the late Gladys Steele. Survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, and a host of step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Burmaster was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of American Legion Post 329 (Bayhi-Ravey Post), member of the VFW, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 6357 (Peter Boerding), Boy Scout Leader, 1975 Chief of Choctaw, and member of the Terrytown Golden Agers. Age 90 years, a native of Algiers , LA and resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 10 AM until 1:15 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA at 2 PM. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery , Belle Chasse, LA.
