Ernest William Lutz, also affectionately known as “Chicken”, passed away February 9, 2014 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Gail Rau Lutz. Loving father of Ernest Butch Lutz, Gretchen Lutz Rogers, William Alvin Lutz and Laurie Lutz Dupre. Brother of Forrest, Donald and Ronald Lutz, the late Amelia Cheramie, Helen Kluka and Burton Lutz. Also survived by 7 grandchildren: Jacob A. Lutz, Stephanie L. Covell, Katherine E. Lutz, Emily Lutz, Adam W. Dupre, William A. Lutz, Jr., Linda L. Dupre and one great grandson, Everett W. Covell. Son of the late Amelia Huber Lutz and William Adam Lutz.
A native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA for many years. Mr. Lutz was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a Tug Boat Captain for most of his life.
Funeral Services were held privately.
