Ernestine "Nell" Landry

Ernestine Lanell "Nell" Landry, age 89 peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, June 5, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Walter Camille Landry. Daughter of the late John Ems Chrestman, Sr. and Era Brasher Chrestman. Loving mother of David Alan Landry (Kim Chai) and Marlin Camille Landry. Sister of Shirley Moore, Corrine Carswell, Margie Dye, and the late John Ems Chrestman, Jr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Born in Lambert, MS, and a graduate of Walnut (MS) High School, Nell was a long-time resident of Belle Chasse, LA. She was a homemaker most of her adult life followed by a ten-year stint in the catalog department of Sears Oakwood before her retirement. An avid gardener and terrific golfer, Nell greatly enjoyed the outdoors as well as home cooking for family and friends. She was also a former long-time volunteer Sunday secretary at the First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 9AM to 11AM. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
