Esther Quartano Brown

Esther Quartano Brown passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Perry Brown and the late Malcolm Barth. Daughter of the late Stephen Quartano and Virginia Domino. Mother of Perrilyn B. Hutcherson (Sam) and Stephanie B. O'Neil (Millie). Grandmother of Lindsey Neal (Justin) and Kyle Cost (Micah). Great-grandmother of Alexander and Asher Neal. Sister of the late George Quartano. Companion of Jose Bautista. Age 91 years, a native of Algiers, LA and resident of Metairie, LA. Esther was a wonderful mother, very active in her daughters youth with their schools and activities, and a shining example, inspiration and support through their lives. She was a proud grandmother and deeply loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther was past Queen of Delta Sigma Womens Carnival Club and longtime member of Cefalu Italian Society. She enjoyed music and dancing at local venues, traveling, including multiple trips to Europe, loved shopping, and spending time gardening and tending her flowers. The family would like to thank the staff at East Bank Canon Hospice, especially Latoya, Que and Lisa for the care and compassion given to Esther and her family. Visitation will be Monday morning April 11, 2016 from 9AM until 11AM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA. A Funeral Mass will follow in the parlor of the Funeral Home.
